Biography

Yusuf is a PhD student in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Informatics, focused on developing a multimodal AI model that integrates Electronic Health Records, Genetic, and Neuroimaging data. Under the supervision of Professor Richard Dobson, Dr Alfredo Iacoangeli, Professor Honghan Wu, Dr Zhi Yao and Dr Chris Tomlinson, his research aims to identify individuals at risk of ALS/MND and to model the progression of their journey. Yusuf holds a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Brighton (2020) and an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience from UCL (2021). With experience across both research institutions and industry, Yusuf has an interdisciplinary background in clinical research, data science, and health informatics. Beyond his current research, Yusuf has contributed to different projects, including COVID-19 vaccine research, evaluating neck collar support in MND patients, and enhancing the accuracy of chest X-ray analysis using vision-language models.
