Biography
Narges has a background in Health Informatics (M.Med.Sc. – M.Sc.; Karolinska Institutet - Stockholm University), and Biomedical Engineering (B.Sc. – M.Sc.), with a growing interest in the field of Neuroscience, and Precision Medicine approaches in Neurology.
Narges is a PhD student at King’s College London, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), and is based at the "Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute" (Al-Khleifat – Al-Chalabi lab). Her work involves Neurogenomics, Bioinformatics and data science, utilizing interdisciplinary approaches to improve our current understanding of complex and progressive diseases within nervous system. Understanding the underlining reasons that specific genes predispose individuals to distinct motor neurodegenerative diseases (MND), rather than others, is crucial for advancing precision medicine approaches in neurology. By examining genetic data across patient cohorts with MND, including Alzheimer's disease (AD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), her research aims to uncover patterns of gene-disease associations in humans to further clarify how particular gene contribute to various conditions, disease onset, severity, and progression.
Narges enjoys uncovering patterns in a meaningful way and through data-driven analysis… And she believes this becomes valuable once it enhances people’s lives in reality, and in practice.
