Call for Projects

2027/28

Supervisors can apply online for studentship projects 2027/28

The EPSRC DRIVE-Health Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) is now inviting project proposals for the 2027/28 student cohort.

King's College London researchers are encouraged to submit innovative, interdisciplinary PhD projects that address important health and healthcare challenges through health data science, artificial intelligence, engineering, computational methods, and digital innovation.

Projects

Projects must align with at least one of the EPSRC DRIVE-Health CDT research themes, demonstrate a clear fit to EPSRC remit, and be appropriate for delivery within a four-year doctoral studentship. We welcome both CDT-funded and co-funded project proposals.

Please complete our online application form: EPSRC DRIVE-Health CDT Project Proposal Form 2027/28.

Deadline for project submissions is 24 September 2026, 13:00 (BST).

Successful projects will form part of a fully funded four-year doctoral training programme, providing students with advanced research training, industry engagement opportunities, and the skills needed to drive the future of data-driven healthcare.

Project Call Guidance

New for 2027/28, we have developed a project call guidance document based on the most common questions received during the previous two rounds of project submissions. The document clarifies key requirements and offers insight into what makes a strong proposal. We encourage all applicants to review the guidance before beginning their application, whether they are submitting for the first time or have previously participated in the call.

The guidance includes information on:

  • Project eligibility and alignment with DRIVE-health themes.
  • EPSRC remit requirements.
  • Developing a strong interdisciplinary supervisory team.
  • Data access, ethics, and project feasibility.
  • CDT-funded and co-funded studentship models.
  • Supervisor expectations and CDT training requirements.
  • Common issues identified during previous project calls.
